MINNEAPOLIS 鈥� Target Corp. announced on Friday that chief digital officer Jason Goldberger had left the company, 鈥渆ffective immediately.鈥�

Goldberger鈥檚 responsibilities will be split between two Target executives, the company said in a statement. Work related to pricing and promotions is being taken over by Mark Tritton, Target鈥檚 chief merchandising officer, who joined Target in June from Nordstrom Inc. Mike McNamara, Target鈥檚 chief information officer, has assumed the digital side of Goldberger鈥檚 role and has been given the new title of chief information and digital officer.
鈥淭aking this body of work in a new direction will help advance our efforts in these key areas during a pivotal time for Target,鈥� said Brian Cornell, the company鈥檚 chairman and chief executive officer. 鈥淚 have complete confidence that Mike and Mark鈥檚 leadership will have an immediate and positive impact on the team and the business.鈥�
Online revenue increased by 31% last year, missing Cornell鈥檚 target of 40% growth. Target鈥檚 online sales contribute about 3% to overall revenue.
Goldberger joined Target in 2013 as a senior vice president of Target.com and was later promoted to Target.com president. He was promoted again in May, when he was assigned to the . His departure comes two weeks after Jeff Jones, Target鈥檚 chief marketing officer, left the retailer to become president of Uber Technologies Inc.
