Pathmark returning to Long Island

The new, small-format stores are being developed by Allegiance Retail Services. These are smaller stores compared to the traditional large format Pathmarks of the past.

NEW YORK —  is launching a new small-format banner, Pathmark Daily, with its first location debuting on Long Island this week, marking a comeback for the brand after the 2015 A&P bankruptcy. This new store, converted from a Foodtown location, aims to revive the brand's presence in the Northeast. 

The first Pathmark Daily, located at 625 Merrick Ave, East Meadow, NY 11554, will hold a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 1, 2026. The new, small-format stores are being developed by Allegiance Retail Services. These are smaller, "small-format" stores compared to the traditional large format Pathmarks of the past.

The Pathmark name, a major New York metropolitan area staple, was acquired by Allegiance Retail Services after the 2015 bankruptcies that closed 19 Long Island locations.

The concept, small format stores that offer a curated assortment of high-quality fresh foods and essential grocery items to support a healthy lifestyle, all anchored in affordability and everyday value. By focusing on what consumers need most, Pathmark Daily will deliver quick access to high quality produce, meats, seafood, and everyday staples, with the convenience of neighborhood shopping. The grocery stores will feature the Best Yet store brands, competitive weekly sales items, in-store specials, and Pathmark’s robust loyalty savings program to help customers stretch their grocery budgets.

Mike Said, the first ARS co-op member to open a Pathmark Daily store stated, “Bringing Pathmark Daily to our neighborhoods answers the needs of our shoppers.  A 49,000-square-foot Pathmark in Brooklyn (1525 Albany Ave) opened in 2019, marking the initial return of the brand.
